"Fill the Tubs" Challenge

FCC youth Sunday School classes are challenging the adults of out church to see who can fill the most tubs. Through the months of November and December, the youth are collecting can goods, boxed goods, tissues and toilet paper. Adults are challended to bring tooth brushes, tooth paste, deodorant, shampoo and conditioners. Tubs will be located in the classrooms and near the chuch office. Items will be donated to the food pantry. Look for the challenge updates in the annex.

Atchison County Christmas Bureau

NEK-CAP and the Salvation Army are once again teaming up to sponsor the Atchison County Christmas Store for 2011. NEK-CAP will be taking donations of new toys, hats, gloves and lankets. The Salvation Army will put together the food baskets for a holiday meal. Monetary donations will be accepted. 

 

Luncheon for Cobleigh

Alicia Cobleigh is the newest member to First Christian Church. Her fiancée, Chad Roberts, was to join as soon as he was off 12/7 days at Bartlett Grain. They were to have been married here at First Christian on November 19. Then tragedy struck at 7 PM on October 30 at Bartlett Grain. The devastating explosion was felt thoughout Atchiosn County. Chad died in the explosion. The horror and sadness has been overwhelming for Alicia, her family, friends and loved ones. They had just bought a home they were remodeling and bills are beginning to stack up.

Field Service Moved

Youth Music Night

St. Mark's Lutheran Church is hosting a Youth Music Night. Ironic Outcome, St. Mark's choir and other musicians will be performing. The program will run from 5:30 to 7:30 PM on Saturday, October 15 at the church, 400 S. 6th.

FCC Rummage Sale

Orveta Larson 89

Orveta Larson will be celebrating her 89th birthday on September 17, 2011. She is a member of the First Christian Church and a former resident of Atchison, now residing in Valley Falls at Linnwood Park.

FCC Sunday School Offerings

The youth fall classes began August 21 with youth moving into their different groupings. Many youth are enrolled with more enrollments being submitted. AWESOME! Beginning September 4 all youth classes will be using curriculum from David C. Cook. Each group will have the same Bible scripture each Sunday.
