Fall Rummage Sale

Trinity Episcopal Church is holding the Fall Rummage Sale on Friday, September 14 from noon to 6 PM and Saturday, September 15 from 8 AM to 2 PM. Items for sale will include household items, including kitchen and food service items, books, vases, clothes, shoes, furniture, tools, lawn care items and more. 

The Church is located at 5th and Skyway (just east of the 5th Street Viduct). Parking is in the lot on the east side of the church. Enter through the "Red Doors." Call ahead if handicapped assistance is needed: 913-367-3171.

Trinity Episcopal Church invites you to a community "All Saints Day Chili/Soup Supper & Talent (No-Talent) Show" November 1, 2011. Supper served from 5 to 7 PM with Talent Show beginning at 5:15 PM. Serving a menu of chili, vegetable soup, crackers, relishes, desserts, coffee and tea. Cost: Free will donation. Congratulation Grosso

Diana Grosso recently submitted one of her recent works to a juried exhibition that was sponsored by St. Michael and All Angels Church (Mission, KS); not only was her work accepted into the show, she was awarded first place! The theme of the exhibition was "abundance," and Diana submitted a piece entitled "Much More Surely" that included representations of various biblical stories all of which make the point that true abundance is often realized in the midst of our poverty, when we realize that our own resources are insufficient, and turn instead to the boundless grace of God.

At the last K2K meeting, I was able to announce I’d raised $2,000 to be used as initial capital for micro-loans. When we arrive in Maai Mahiu, women will have been trained to run small businesses with an existing economic support system.

 

2011 Tocher Lecture

This year’s lecture featuring Makoto Fujimura will be on Thursday, 5 May, at 7:00 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Cathedral (701 SW 8th Ave., Topeka). Fujimura’s work is exhibited in galleries around the world, including Dillon Gallery (New York), Tokyo National University of Fine Arts Museum, sen gallery (Tokyo), and Taiku Place (Hong Kong). He was a Presidential appointee to the National Council on the Arts (2003-2009) and has lectured widely, including at encounter 10, the Aspen Institute, and the Q Conference.
