AHS BBall has been postponed to Friday. Varsity GB at 5, Boys at 7 pm.

ACES boys basketball game has been moved to Friday. Same tine and place.

Part of the reason we want our children to become involved in organized sports is so they can learn how to behave in a sportsmanlike manner. What does this mean exactly?

Sportsmanship Defined: Sportsmanship can be thought of as playing fair, showing courtesy to the other players, and displaying grace no matter what the outcome of the game is.

2 Atchison Wrestler to State

Kenny Gulley (AHS) and Karlson Rusmus (MHMA) will represent their respective schools in Kansas State High School Wrestling Tournaments next weekend (Feb. 25). Rusmus will travel to Hays for the small schools tournament while Gulley goes to Salina for the 4A tournaments. Both wrestlers compete with Atchison High during the season and train under head coach Ed Crouse.

Scholarship Information

In the last 5 years, 90% of all scholarships require you to apply online and only send (or email) the counselors information on the basic requirements for the scholarship and where to direct their students to go. All of these are on our AHS website under scholarships or on Channel 19. These scholarships are national scholarships and according to the financial aid officers, most scholarships will come from the institution you student attends or local scholarships.

MHMA Recognizes League Champ Wrestlers

Congratulations to our wrestlers on winning the league championship. Rasmus Karlsson took 1st place, Tim Swingle took 2nd place, Jordan Thomas and Kyle Mason tied for 3rd place!

AHS Wrestling Team Wins League

The Atchison High School Wrestling team took the Kansas City Area League Championship Saturday, February 12. Individual Champs include Kenny Gulley (119), Cody Calhoon, (125), Montana Christesen (145), Geoffery Vaughn (171) and Rasmus Karlsson (285).

AHS Student Council Participates in SAFE Program

This semester, the Atchison High School Student Council and the Atchison Police Department are working together in conjunction with the state of Kansas to bring the Seatbelts Are For Everyone (SAFE) program to Atchison High School.
