On Saturday, May 19th, Maur Hill - Mount Academy sent off the class of 2012. The commencement exercise was held in the gymnasium an hour-and-a-half following AHS. The afternoon started with a Mass at 2 PM held in St. Scholastic Chapel.

The Commencement Speaker was Carol Rogers. Rogers is a graduate of the Mount. She founded Rogers & Company, one of the nation's premier wealth management firms.

County Government Day

Seniors from Atchison High, Maur Hill-Mount Academy, and Atchison County Community High School spent Wednesday morning with county officials. Approximately 70 students started in Court Room for an explanation of County Government in Kansas.

The students then broke up into groups to visit with individual officials and tour county offices. A large group heard from County Attorney Jerry Kuckelman what it is to be a County Attorney and Clerk of the District Court Dona Oswald.
