BC Wrestling Dual

Benedictine College will host its first-ever home wrestling dual (two teams) Thursday, Nov. 29. Benedictine will host NCAA Div. II, University of Central Missouri at 7 p.m. in the Ralph Nolan Gymnasium. Our wrestlers have been holding their own in competition against top Div.

BC Adds Wrestling

Benedictine College will add wrestling to its intercollegiate athletic activities starting in the 2012-2013 school year. Benedictine becomes the third Heart of America Athletic Conference school to offer the sport.

2 Atchison Wrestler to State

Kenny Gulley (AHS) and Karlson Rusmus (MHMA) will represent their respective schools in Kansas State High School Wrestling Tournaments next weekend (Feb. 25). Rusmus will travel to Hays for the small schools tournament while Gulley goes to Salina for the 4A tournaments. Both wrestlers compete with Atchison High during the season and train under head coach Ed Crouse.

The Atchison High School Wrestling team took the Kansas City Area League Championship Saturday, February 12. Individual Champs include Kenny Gulley (119), Cody Calhoon, (125), Montana Christesen (145), Geoffery Vaughn (171) and Rasmus Karlsson (285).

AHS Wrestler to Tonganoxie Tournament

For the last tournament of 2010 AHS wrestlers traveled to Tonganoxie Saturday, December 18th. Kenny Gulley took first at 119 lb. Second place medels were brought home by Mack Cory at 160 lb. and Goeffry Vaugh at 179. Sean Kratchman (189) and Cody Calhoon (125) took thrid place.

AHS Wrestler Secure 4th at Sabetha

The Redmen wrestlers returned to the Sabetha Tournament Saturday, Dec. 11th. The team has competed in this tournament for a number of years. This year they secured fourth place. Auburn, NE, took first with Sabetha taking second. There were nine teams competing this year.

Four Redmen took second place. Kenny Gulley took the silver at 119 pounds while Cody Calhoon brought it home at 125 pounds. Mack Cory took second in the 160 pound bracket. Goeffry Vaoughn brought the silver home at 171 lb. Sean Kratchman was able to take 3rd place at 189 lbs.

AHS Wrestlers Win Double Dual

AHS wrestlers had a great night last night, Thurday, Dec. 9th. They took the Bishop Ward meet 72 to 6. In the second meet with Harmon the Redmen came out on top 48 to 24.

AHS Wrestlers Open Season at Home

The AHS wrestlers are opening their season with 2 home events within 3 days. They host a tri-meet on Thursday and the Worley-Tilton Tournament on Saturday.

The AHS wrestlers start off with a tri-meet on Thursday, Dec. 2^nd again Sabetha and Horton. The meet will be held in the AMS gym starting at 5:30 pm.
