Thanks to the generosity of the Atchison community, over 4000 lbs of food was collected Saturday in the Scouting for Food drive. Girl and Boy Scouts travelled the city picking up truck loads of non-perishable food for the local food pantries. Over 3000 lbs was collected. Country Mart added another 1000 lbs. This helped restock the depleted pantries at the Salvation Army and First Christian Church.
The drive was speared headed by Kelly and Derek Franklin. Thanks to parents who drove routes the city was covered in a few hours.
