Saturday, May 11, 8 AM to 1 PM all youth ages 6-12 can put a pole in Atchison State Fishing Lake
for the 3rd Fishing Clinic. The clinic is free and includes all fishing equipment, bait, tackle and lunch. The event is provided by the Atchison YMCA, Kanza District of the Boy Scouts of America and the Kansas Wildlife and Parks. Sponsors for the event include Cabela's and Eagle Claw'. What a Catch

The shower that started the day only caused the fish to bite. Everyone that came to the 2nd Annual Fishing Clinic at Atchison State Lake caught fish. Most at least two and some as many an seven in the event that lasted from 8 AM to 1 PM Saturday, May 12th. The event is to let youth 6 through 12 have the opportunity to enjoy fishing and learn how.

2nd Fishing Clinic Saturday

Starting at 8 AM, May 12, kids from ages 6 through 12 are invited to gather at the State Fishing Lake to cast a line. This is the second year that the Kanza District Boy Scouts and the Atchison YMCA have teamed up to sponsor this event along with the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP).
