Children’s Handchime Choir Begins November 2
I am very excited to invite all young people in 3rd grade through 8th grade to be a part of the newly formed Handchime Choir. AUMC has a wonderful set of handchimes and bell plates that need to be ringing throughout our church. AUMC also has a wonderful group of young people who can make the chimes ring! We will meet at 5:15 pm on Wednesdays, beginning on November 2, 2011.
We will be finished in time for those participating in youth group to get to dinner on time! Our first
meeting will be in the choir room so we can all get to know each other and share our interest and our musical experience. PLEASE REMEMBER: NO MUSIC EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED!! We will start at the very beginning and all learn to ring together! I will be contacting each of you about
participating in this group. One of the first things we will need to do is think of a nice name for the group - so I invite you to start thinking about that also!!
Handchime and Bell Plate Choir - High School, Adults: November 3
It is with just as much enthusiasm that I invite high school students through adult to participate in your own Handchime and Bell Plate group! A few of us met during coffee fellowship time to visit about beginning a group. I’m still in search of the best time to meet for rehearsal, so what I would like to do is meet Thursday evening, November 3, at 5:30 pm to ring some chimes and figure out what would be the best time for all of us to get together. As of now we’ll plan to meet in the choir room because the actual rehearsal location for the chime groups is still being worked out! Please remember, I’m not asking you to make a lifetime commitment, or even a year-long commitment. What would be great is if we could put a group together and do some music through Advent and Christmas – so you would really only need to commit to 6 or 8 weeks!
So plan to come on November 3 at 5:30 pm. If you are interested but unable to make that first meeting,
