Three Atchison Businesses Win Awards

Atchison Community Health Clinic, Lopez de Mexico, and MGP Ingredients are recognized by the Kansas Department of Commerce Business Excellence Awards. MGP Ingrediants was recognized as one of the 22 Regional Winners. Atchison Community Health Clinic and Lopez de Mexico were recognized as Merit Award Winners.
The Kansas Department of Commerce has named 22 Regional Business Excellence Award winners and 97 Merit Award winners as part of Business Appreciation Month, the Department’s annual celebration of Kansas businesses and their contributions to their communities and the state economy.
The 119 businesses were nominated in one of four categories: manufacturing/distribution, service, retail and hospital/non-profit. Six of the 22 Regional Business Excellence Award winners have been named finalists for the Governor’s Award of Excellence—the top award given to a business by the state—which will be announced June 12 at the Kansas Cavalry Encampment in Manhattan. The six finalists are:
Carter Automotive Warehouse (Coffeyville and four other locations)
Custom Foods Inc. (DeSoto)
Gove County Medical Center (Quinter)
Midland Marketing (Hays)
NetStandard Inc. (Kansas City, Kan.)
Nex-Tech Inc. (Lenora)
